Are we on The Amazing Race?

HI all,

You might wonder why I haven’t written in the last couple days. We all know good things can’t be happening forever. Gotta have challenges to make life more interesting. Here are our challenges:

– Took us 2 hours under the hot sun to find a hotel.

– The room is at the front and close to the street, couldn’t sleep because of the noise.

– We know we came to the right place but at the wrooooong time. We mostly see the sea of people (because of the holiday) instead of the all the beautiful sceneries.

– The next day we were moved to another room at the back, hopefully we will get a quiet night to sleep. But no, our neighbour in the next room was so noisy that Gunther woke up in the middle of the night and made a statement: “I won’t stay in this hotel another night!” Gosh, where would we go? He settled to stay another night now. We have no choice.

– I still have stomach cramp which doesn’t want to go away, got some medicine from a pharmacy to control it. I am worried!

– Book a sight seeing tour, but they cheated us so we came back early and asked for 1/2 money back. Didn’t see much. Some are beautiful views but there were full of people so we were sooo disappointed.

– Last but not least, we didn’t book a bus ticket to go back to Saigon ahead of time. So we would be stuck here until Tues for bus tickets (everybody has to go back to Saigon before Mon–holiday is over then). I am so desperated to go back Saigon, so I frantically called a VN airline–still no tickets available until Wed. I even considered and am ready to pay a very high price to Taxi.

I am tired, disappointed and Gunther is regretting about coming to VN during Tet now. Well he learned :>;) We have to say that we both had just graduated from a bitching school of Dalat. Can you tell in my writing?

Anyway, couple good things happened to us that we are appreciated:

– The son of the hotel owner who got us a room on the first day.

– On the tour this morning, one couple told us that they have one extra bus ticket. We just have to meet them their at the station tomorrow Sun at 2:30am to go back to Saigon. They will help us get another ticket from the black market or from the driver. I might have crappy seat but I don’t care. I WANT to get out of Dalat asap! Cross your fingers for us.

Gunther got bites all over from special flies, really itchy!
